► The Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County hosted its 2024 Annual Meeting and recognized Sarasota Bradenton International Airport’s President and Chief Executive Officer Fredrick “Rick” J. Piccolo as the 2024 Clyde Nixon Business Leadership Honoree. 

► Frontier Airlines added a nonstop flight from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. 

► Advisors from SVN Commercial Advisory Group have closed a $1.35 million deal for a parcel of undeveloped land, at 5615 Manor Hill Lane, in Bradenton, selling to Horne Partners, which plan to construct a self-storage facility on the 2.51-acre site. 

► The Baltimore Orioles are planning an on-campus expansion of the team’s spring training facilities at Ed Smith Stadium, in Sarasota. 

► Lakewood Ranch Medical Center CEO Andy Guz has been promoted to CEO of Manatee Memorial Hospital, in downtown Bradenton.

► The Florida Solar Energy Industries Association elected Bill Johnson, president and founder of Brilliant Harvest, in Sarasota, as president of its board. 

► Sarasota County has bought the conversation easement for 656 acres on Longino Ranch, at 26111 Turpentine Still Road, in Sidell, for $2.89 million.

► Commercial real estate veteran David Perry has been hired by Sarasota’s Michael Saunders & Co. as a director in its MS&C Commercial Division.
