Medical Technology Associates expands with acquisition in the Midwest

Jo-Lynn Brown January 7, 2025

Medical Technology Associates has acquired Midwest Medical Gas Service, expanding its medical gas service operations in the Midwest.

The deal extends MTA’s reach in key markets including Indiana, Ohio and Illinois, as well as neighboring states.

Midwest Medical Gas Service specializes in medical gas services and compliance testing for health care facilities across the Midwest. Joe Olson, president of the company, highlighted the strategic alignment of the two organizations.

“MTA’s culture is a natural fit with our company,” Olson said. “Their corporate infrastructure will help us accelerate growth and continue providing top-tier service to our customers.”

Val Marks, chief executive officer of MTA, praised Midwest Medical Gas Service for its strong reputation and expertise in the industry. “Joe, and his team, have built an exceptional business that enhances our capabilities in the Midwest market,” Marks said.

MTA, based in Pinellas Park, is one of the largest U.S. companies specializing in health care testing, inspection, certification, repair and calibration services. In addition to servicing medical gas systems, the company distributes equipment from manufacturers including Powerex, Amico and TriTech. It also offers national solutions for clean room and hood certification and testing for pharmacies and labs.

MTA most recently acquired Major Medical Hospital Services, a medical gas service provider, based in West Berlin, New Jersey.
