Tampa family named among nation’s top philanthropic donors

Jo-Lynn Brown March 5, 2025

The Pagidipati family, of Tampa, has been named to the Chronicle of Philanthropy’s Philanthropy 50, an annual ranking of the largest donors in the United States.

The family donated $50 million to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, last April, to support pediatric health care in the Tampa Bay region. The contribution, one of the largest in Tampa Bay’s history and among the largest to a health care facility in Florida, will help fund the construction of a free-standing pediatric hospital. The new facility, which will bear the Pagidipati name, is expected to open by 2030.

The donation was made by Tampa business leader Sidd Pagidipati and his siblings, Rahul and Srujani, in honor of their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary and their 50th year in the United States. Their parents, Devaiah Pagidipati, a pediatric anesthesiologist, and Rudrama Pagidipati, a pathologist, built careers in medicine and health care entrepreneurship.

The Philanthropy 50 list marks its 25th year of recognizing top donors across the country.

In previous years, other notable philanthropists, from the Tampa Bay area, have included Kiran C. Patel, Bill Edwards, Jeffrey Vinik and the late Vince Naimoli.

The full list is available at philanthropy.com/topdonors.
