Morgan Automotive Group Acquires Ocean Honda in Port Richey

By Michael Connor

Morgan Automotive Group announced today that it acquired Port Richey-based Ocean Honda.  It will be called Honda of Port Richey and is the company’s ninth Honda dealership.

The acquisition demonstrates Morgan Auto Group’s continuous investment in Greater Tampa Bay, becoming its 24th dealership in the area.

“Tampa Bay has always been home for us, and we’re thrilled to keep growing here, especially with a brand as trusted as Honda,” said Brett Morgan, CEO of Morgan Auto Group in a prepared statement.

Morgan Automotive Group acquired Honda of Port Richey from Canton, Michigan-based Victory Automotive Group.  “We appreciate Jeff Cappo and the entire Cappo family who has made this a seamless transaction,” Morgan elaborated. “They have been great to deal with, and we look forward to carrying the Honda torch onward here in Port Richey.”

The company’s portfolio includes another Port Richey dealership, Ford of Port Richey, which was purchased in 2010.

With the acquisition of Honda of Port Richey, Morgan Auto Group has shown its commitment to the Florida market, operating more than 70 dealerships around the state.

Furthermore, the new purchase exemplifies the group’s goal of creating convenient and professional car-buying experiences for its clients. Alongside Honda and Ford, Morgan Automotive Group owns dealerships for a variety of manufacturers including Porsche and Lamborghini.
