The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Indian Advisory Council hosted its Annual Banquet on September 17 at the Bryan Glazer JCC.
The event brought together law enforcement leaders, community partners and families to celebrate service, cultural unity and shared commitment to Hillsborough County.
This year’s banquet was led by Event Chair Kuleen Shah, Vice Chair Ami Patel and Council President Ketan Patel.
A night of recognition
Sheriff Chad Chronister joined the full council on stage as members were recognized for their contributions throughout the year.
The Council was founded in 2014 by Dr. Vipul Kabaria, who sought to build a bridge between the Indian community and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Today, the organization continues that mission through youth programs, community partnership work and public service projects across the county.
Throughout 2025, the Council donated laptops to students in Hillsborough County Schools, supported Junior Achievement and 3DE programs, partnered with YA by the Bay, contributed to the Sheriff’s Annual Golf Tournament supporting Hands Across the Bay and provided technology resources to the Tampa Housing Authority.
Members also engaged in community events, including the Florida Strawberry Festival Grand Parade, the Florida State Fair’s Family Day and the HCSO Black Community Relations Committee Banquet.
The Annual Banquet serves as the Council’s signature event and highlights the impact of these programs.
Leaders emphasized the importance of continued partnerships with the Sheriff’s Office and ongoing support for families, students and neighborhoods across the county.
