Tampa City Council will consider amendments to the ground lease for Phase 4 of the Rome Yard redevelopment, extending the project’s timeline to meet lender requirements tied to construction financing.
The resolution updates the lease between the city and Rome Yards Phase 4 LLC for city-owned land in West Tampa, just south of Columbus Drive between Rome Avenue and the Hillsborough River.
The changes extend the outside completion date and incorporate provisions required by a senior lender as the developer moves Phase 4 toward construction.
Rome Yard is an 18-acre redevelopment of a former city maintenance yard through a partnership between the City of Tampa, the Tampa Housing Authority and Related Urban Development Group.
Plans call for 954 mixed-income residential units, including hundreds of affordable and workforce units, along with retail space, workforce training facilities and cultural amenities as the project continues its phased buildout.
The project sits just north of the West River redevelopment, where Tampa Housing Authority and Related have completed multiple residential phases and are shifting toward commercial buildout along Main Street.
