PNC Bank plans to convert a former Burger King into a bank branch at Village Market in Wesley Chapel, bringing a new banking location to the shopping center along one of Pasco County’s busiest commercial corridors.
The $900,000 project will transform the 3,500-square-foot restaurant at 28136 Wesley Chapel Boulevard, near the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Interstate 75.
The former fast-food restaurant will undergo a full renovation to accommodate the bank’s operations, with a new drive-up ATM replacing part of the existing drive-through configuration.
Village Market, a 98,547-square-foot shopping center, is also home to Crunch Fitness, Ace Hardware, Famous Tate and several smaller retailers.
PNC already operates a full-service branch at 1715 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Wesley Chapel, a short distance from Village Market, raising the question of whether the new location represents an expansion or relocation.
The bank has not announced whether it intends to maintain both branches.
