Great Places and Spaces: Obsidian Residences (RENDERINGS)

Obsidian Residences, an 18-story boutique luxury condominium tower, is being planned for development on historic Palm Avenue, in downtown Sarasota.

Located at 1260 North Palm Avenue, the building will offer luxury living and one residence per floor for a total of 14 “custom homes in the sky.” The number of bedrooms will range from three to five and residences will be priced starting in the high $4 million range.

Each residence will be personalized to meet the individual requests of its owner and will have resort-style amenities, on four levels, including a sky deck on the roof of the building which incorporates a lap pool, spa and firepit.

Developer Matt Kihnke, president of Sarasota-based MK Equity Corp., the developer on the project, has named Michael Saunders & Co. the seller of the residences.

A groundbreaking for Obsidian is expected to take place at the end of 2023, with an opening by fall of 2025. The team includes Sarasota-based project HOYT Architects as project architect, in collaboration with local architecture firm PS Design Workshop and Los Angeles-based interior designer Troy Adams.
