National design-build firm announces East Coast hub in Tampa

LGE Design Build, a leading architecture, engineering and construction firm based in Phoenix and Dallas, has opened a new office in Tampa as part of its national expansion.

The office at 442 W. Kennedy Blvd. will serve as the company’s East Coast hub. LGE enters Florida with nearly 500,000 square feet of logistics development projects already under contract, showing strong demand for its design-build services in the region.

What happened

Founded in 1994, LGE Design Build has completed more than 1,200 projects across 28 million square feet of industrial, office, mixed-use, medical, education and hospitality space.

The company’s integrated model brings architecture, interior design, engineering, budget control, permit coordination and construction together in one process. This allows projects to move from concept to completion more efficiently.

“Florida represents an incredible opportunity for LGE,” said Mike Stafford, president of LGE Design Build. “It’s one of the most business-friendly states in the country with strong population growth and a dynamic economy. Establishing a permanent presence here lets us better serve clients across the East Coast.”

What’s happening now

The Tampa office officially opened in November. It will manage projects across Florida and the Southeastern United States. Current work includes large-scale logistics and industrial developments totaling nearly 500,000 square feet.

The team will provide full design-build services from concept to completion. Tampa will also be the base for expanding client relationships across neighboring states.

What this means for Tampa Bay

LGE’s expansion shows confidence in Tampa’s growing commercial market. The city’s strong economy, population growth and demand for industrial and mixed-use development make it a key location for national firms.

For local developers, LGE’s model provides a single point of contact for the entire design and construction process. That can mean lower costs, faster delivery and a streamlined experience.

LGE Design Build has been recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal’s Top Private Companies of 2024, Building Design & Construction’s Giants 400 Report and Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in America.
