Soma Global’s $22.5M investment named Deal of the Year

The Alliance of M&A Advisors Tampa Bay Chapter has named Soma Global’s massive investment the organization’s 2021 Deal of the Year.

Soma Global, a public safety provider company based in Tampa, received a $22.5 million investment from Weatherford Capital, a Tampa-based private firm, in January.

Finalists for Deal of the Year included Dow Sherwood Corp. Village Inn Restaurants, Global Jetcare, SiteReady and Soma Global.

Other finalists for Deal of the Year included Dow Sherwood Corp. Village Inn Restaurants, Global Jetcare and SiteReady.

Soma Global was founded in 2017 and specializes in public-safety-as-a-service cloud platforms, which are used for computer-aided dispatch, school safety records, jail management and more.

The Deal of the Year Awards is focused on celebrating the Tampa Bay area’s top M&A deals and dealmakers. The award honors the advancement of business relationships, capital formation, job growth and positive economic, and community, impact through successful achievements in merger and acquisitions transactions.

The Alliance has 19 domestic chapters. The Tampa Bay Chapter’s goal is to bring knowledge and resources to the business community. The organization brings speakers, and panelists, to quarterly meetings that educate business owners and professionals that collaborate with them.
