► St. Petersburg College announced a partnership with the nationally recognized veterinary program Blendvet to present its “Exploring a Future in Veterinary Technology” workshop, a free event for students, aged 12-15, to explore careers in veterinary technology.

► Topgolf opened, at 220 Carillon Parkway N., in St. Petersburg’s Carillon office park. 

► Flagship Bank, a subsidiary of West Florida Bank Corp. based in Clearwater, announced that James Nelson, the bank’s president, chief operating officer and chief credit officer, has been appointed by the board of directors to assume the role, and responsibilities, of Flagship’s top leadership position following the retirement of current chief executive officer Robert McGivney, who will continue to serve as a director for Flagship Bank and West Florida Bank Corp.

► Marcus & Millichap, a commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in investment sales, financing, research and advisory services, announced the sale of Treasure Island Plaza, a 20,000-square-foot shopping strip, in Treasure Island, for $5.85 million.  

► CareerSource Pinellas interim chief CEO Steven Meier has been appointed to the position on an official basis. 

► Ernst & Young announced that Shirl Penney, president and CEO of Dynasty Financial Partners, was named a 2023 entrepreneur of the year Florida award winner.

► Sarasota’s Crisp Waffle Co. plans to open a new location, at 2414 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. 

► Hope Villages of America, based in Clearwater, appointed Nick DiCeglie as its new president and CEO. 

► Gateway Subs plans to open its third sandwich shop, at 5931 Fourth St. N., in St. Petersburg. 

► Engel & Völkers Madeira Beach was the recipient of the Pulse of the City News Award, which recognizes companies and individuals within the building and construction industries that have embraced the combination of quality product and exemplary customer service. 

► Children’s Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates added physician Brian R. Piazza to its practice. 

► Parc Center for Disabilities, in St. Petersburg, named Phil Deal as chief philanthropy officer.
