CareerSource board seeks Pinellas County applicants for open seats

CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas is seeking applications from Pinellas County residents to serve on its workforce development board for a two-year volunteer term. Applications are due by 3 p.m. Monday, May 5.

Eight seats are open, including six representatives from the business sector, one from the workforce sector and one from the education and training sector. All nominees must be registered voters in Pinellas County. A residency waiver is available for certain sectors, at the discretion of the CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas Consortium.

The board meets every other month and oversees workforce development initiatives under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Members are required to file annual financial disclosures and serve without compensation.

Applicants must complete an online application at www.Pinellas.gov/boards. Business applicants must also upload a nomination letter from a chamber of commerce or industry organization.
