Valspar Championship raises $1.64 million for Tampa Bay charities

Jo-Lynn Brown June 24, 2025

The 2025 Valspar Championship generated $1.64 million for more than 100 local charities, the tournament announced this week during its “Paint The Town Positive” Charity Caravan.

The weeklong initiative featured tournament leaders visiting a dozen of the charities benefiting from the event’s proceeds. Hosted by Copperhead Charities, the organization has now raised nearly $53 million for nonprofits since 1977.

“Once again, this has been a week that has truly brought home the message about why we do this,” said former NFL star Rondé Barber, co-general chair of the tournament. “The people we met who operate these charities are inspiring, and their clients are so grateful.”

The 2025 tournament welcomed 140,000 fans, nearly 400 sponsors and 2,500 volunteers. Tournament Director Tracy West credited this outpouring of support for making the charitable impact possible.

“We only left these visits wanting to do more,” West said. “We’re already fired up to produce an even more successful tournament in 2026.”

This year’s Valspar Championship concluded on March 23, with Viktor Hovland taking home the trophy after a strong finish on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor.
