A longtime Tampa Bay hurricane protection business adopts a new name

A longtime Tampa Bay hurricane protection company has adopted the Storm Shielder name as it marks 40 years in the region.

Home Safety Solutions, one of Tampa Bay’s longest-standing hurricane protection companies, has introduced a new brand identity as it enters its 40th year in business.

The company will now operate as Storm Shielder, a name its leaders say reflects both its history and its vision for the future.

Storm Shielder builds on a legacy that began in 1986. The company is known for impact-rated windows, shutters, screens and other storm-protection products designed for Florida homes.

The new brand includes an updated look, a modern logo and a renewed focus on innovation as the region continues to grow.

“Storm Shielder is more than a name. It is a commitment,” said Troy Atlas, CEO of Home Safety Solutions. “As we begin our 40th year in business, our team has earned the trust of Tampa Bay families by combining the best products with genuine care and craftsmanship. Our new brand represents that same dedication, with technology, design and service that are built to protect season after season.”

The company’s new website, StormShielder.com, highlights an expanded range of storm protection products that blend safety with design.

The lineup includes impact-rated hurricane windows, advanced roll-down and Bahama shutters and lightweight storm panels and screens built for different home types.

Storm Shielder’s leadership says the refreshed identity reflects two priorities.

  1. Honoring the company’s long track record in Tampa Bay.
  2. Meeting the needs of a new generation of homeowners who want protection that is strong, efficient and visually appealing.

As the company moves into its next chapter, it remains focused on the values that shaped its growth.

Atlas said quality, service and trust will continue to guide every project. The goal is to help Tampa Bay stay safer and more resilient as storms become more frequent and more severe.

Storm Shielder was founded as Home Safety Solutions in 1986, and has grown into one of the most recognized hurricane protection companies in the region, serving homeowners throughout Florida.

Why it matters

Tampa Bay is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country, and that growth has brought more demand for durable, high-quality storm protection.

Stronger storms and more frequent weather events mean homeowners are looking for products that offer real security without sacrificing design.

Storm Shielder’s rebrand signals the continued rise of the home hardening market, which has become a major focus for homeowners, insurers and builders across Florida.

A company with 40 years of experience, leaning into new technology and design signals where the local industry is heading.
