Alzheimer’s Association to host ‘An Evening to Remember’ to support Alzheimer’s research

On Friday, Nov. 12, the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will host its annual “An Evening to Remember” gala on November 12.

The event will be held outdoors at the Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort and Golf Club and will include a cocktail reception, dinner, music and both live, and silent, auctions. All proceeds will benefit the care, support and research initiatives of the Alzheimer’s Association.

“For this year’s gala, we are planning an exciting night under the stars and hope all those who are dedicated to the cause of ending Alzheimer’s will join us,” said event chair Bridgette Bello, who is also the CEO and publisher of Tampa Bay Business & Wealth magazine. “So many of us know someone who has been affected by this disease, and there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching your loved one slowly slip away from you and feeling powerless to stop it.”

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 6 million Americans are currently battling Alzheimer’s disease. In Florida alone, there are 580,000 people living with the disease and more than 527,000 family members and friends providing them with care.

“In Florida especially, raising awareness of Alzheimer’s disease is so critical,” noted Sue Bliss, gala director for the Alzheimer’s Association Florida Gulf Coast Chapter. “Here, we have the second-highest prevalence of Alzheimer’s in the nation, and those family members, neighbors and friends need our help. That’s why the Alzheimer’s Association is dedicated to ensuring that all those affected have access to the resources and support they need to face this disease head-on.”

“An Evening to Remember” will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 12. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available online at alzgala2021.givesmart.com. For additional information, contact Sue Bliss at [email protected] or (727) 220-4443.
