► Cane & Barrel, a rooftop bar and cocktail lounge, opened at the 172-key AC Hotel by Marriott at 110 Second St. N.

► Hold-Thyssen, a full-service commercial real estate firm with offices in Clearwater and Winter Park, completed the $3.8 million sale of 4.8 acres on Seminole Boulevard, at the intersection of 21st Avenue S.E. just north of Ulmerton Road, in Clearwater.

► Freddy Williams, president and chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast, was elected by the governing board of the Boys & Girls Clubs to serve as chair of the national board of directors. 

► Spoor Bunch Franz, a St. Petersburg-based accounting firm, promoted Julie Moore to partner. 

► St. Pete Beach’s Dockside Grill & Bar, located at 4945 Gulf Blvd., has been sold and will reopen in March as Prima Cantina, a Mexican restaurant with two other locations in Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades, California.

► Empath Partners in Care, a member of Empath Health, received a donation of $150,985 as a beneficiary of the annual SMART (Southern Most HIV/AIDS) Ride.

► Raising Cane’s, a Louisiana-based fast food chain, opened its first Gulf Coast location, in Clearwater, at 2525 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. 

► Tequila Daisy, a craft cocktail bar, plans to open this summer on the ground floor of One St. Petersburg at 120 First Ave. N., across from the Sundial parking garage.

► The Major County Sheriffs of America named Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri its 2022 Sheriff of the Year.

► Ally MW has proposed a 28-story residential tower on the site of the Exchange Hotel, formerly Hotel Indigo, at 234 3rd Ave. N., in St. Petersburg. 

► The Florida Holocaust Museum has named Carl Goodman as president and CEO. 

► House of Vegano, which specializes in 100% plant-based sushi, is moving to 1990 Central Ave., across the street from the Imagine Museum in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District.

► Segreti’s Hospitality Group, the owner of Yard of Ale and 260 First, in downtown St. Petersburg, plans to open a 7,000-square-foot establishment, named the Nauti Duchess, in mid-April, at 217 Central Ave., replacing Caddy’s on Central, which closed in 2020.
