Telson was promoted to his first professional position with Walgreens in 1985. In 2001, he was promoted to his first leadership role, in Connecticut, overseeing New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut. He was promoted to a corporate role in 2013 and relocated to Chicago where he ran several nationwide initiatives for Walgreens before moving back to Tampa, in 2015. He retired from Walgreens in 2019 and, in 2022, he joined Sweetheart Ice Cream as its chief operating officer. He has since formed his own LLC, Born to Run Holdings, to encompass his consulting contracts.
