Modern Italian fare done right

The much-anticipated, Jeff Gigante concept, Forbici is open in Hyde Park Village. Honestly, I dare you to find something on their menu that isn’t delicious.

Gigante just gets the restaurant business. The eatery is both, high-class and comfortable at the same time.

“I wanted it to feel like the place has been open for fifty years upon opening,” says Gigante. “I’m so happy with it.”

You can tell. Gigante is radiating happiness these days. He’s clearly proud of the end result, and the star of the show is undeniably the food.

Meatballs

The meatballs are tender and incredibly flavorful for such a simple dish, but that’s what Forbici gets right. Simple dishes delight the palate.

The Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe is so good, it’s easy to forget the simplicity of the dish.

The Roman pizza is amazing. Try the Cup & Char with premium cured pepperoni. Anything with the Pomodoro sauce will make your mouth happy. It’s amazing.

End your meal with the Lemon Olive Oil cake. You can thank me later.

Forbici is open for lunch and dinner. Gigante says that it will begin a brunch menu this fall. ♦
