Ellison Construction selected to build ‘The Elliott’ members-only club

Ellison Construction has been selected to build a new high-end private club in downtown Tampa, to be named “The Elliott.”

Work on the members-only club, at 500 E. Kennedy Blvd., is expected to begin this summer. It will include restaurants and bars, a jazz lounge, wellness center, rooftop garden terrace, cigar room and elegant event spaces. A racquets program is also anticipated.

“Ellison Construction has a stellar track record and a long history of building some of Tampa Bay’s best known and most iconic establishments and we are confident that they will raise the bar to a new height with The Elliott”, said co-developers Courtney and Jason Kuhn of Kuhn Automotive Group in a statement.

Ellison Construction is well-known in Tampa, with such notable projects as Hotel Haya, The Stovall House, Armature Works and The Oxford Exchange.

The Elliott will be in a building originally designed in 1921, by acclaimed architect M. Leo Elliott, for whom the club will be named. Designers plan to preserve the building’s history and features.

“Adaptive Reuse projects are where our firm excels, so we’re honored to be chosen to bring The Elliott to life. The Kuhn’s vision for this club will breathe new life into this extraordinary building in Tampa’s downtown core and, we believe, really up the design game in the downtown market,” Ellison Construction President Cory Ellison said.

The Elliott is expected to open in 2026.
