Startups gathered at the University of South Florida St. Pete campus to share their ideas and work together to turn those ideas into actual businesses at Startup Weekend Tampa Bay 2024.
The event returned to the Tampa Bay area, after more than four years of hiatus, following a new partnership with USF Nault Center for Entrepreneurship.
The weekend started with 15 startup ideas and concluded with a panel of five judges, including Alison Barlow and Allen Clary, selecting the top three ideas: Care Collective, a gig-economy caregiving platform, took first place, Click Brain, an AI-enabled SEO website plug-in, came in second place and Prodisphere, an AI sports scouting and valuation platform, came in third place.
“I am impressed and appreciative of the generosity from those in the Tampa Bay entrepreneurship ecosystem that spent their weekend mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs,” said Will Freeman, a Tampa Bay consultant and entrepreneur, who led the organizing team for the event.
