Chef Chris Ponte announces opening date for Olivia in St. Pete

Jo-Lynn Brown January 15, 2025

Chef Chris Ponte has announced the opening date for Olivia, a modern Italian restaurant in downtown St. Pete. The 5,550-square-foot restaurant is located at 225 1st Ave. N., will open its doors on Jan. 21. It will occupy the ground floor of the 36-story Ascent apartment and hotel tower. Olivia, which debuted in Tampa in 2019, is known for its blend of authentic Italian cuisine and a modern menu. The new location will accommodate approximately 180 guests, including an outdoor patio.

Ponte collaborated with Tampa-based architecture firm api (+) and local contractor Reno Boyd Building Co. to design and build the space.

Visit the full story at St. Pete Rising for a closer look at Olivia’s offerings and details about the opening.
