One Liners Polk: CenterState Bank, Housing Trust Group and more

►Housing Trust Group broke ground on the second phase of Twin Lakes Estates at 501 Hartsell Avenue in Lakeland, an affordable housing community for families and seniors that when complete will deliver a total of 318 one-,two- and three-bedroom affordable apartments for seniors and families in three phases. Going 406 Baseball, an 8,500-square-foot indoor baseball and softball facility is opening at 1128 E. Main St., Lakeland.

The Lakeland Chamber hired two new employees and elevated two employees including Sarah Breed as chief operating officer, Amber Aaron as vice president of investor relations and finance, Monica Manjarres as executive assistant, reporting to both Breed and Aaron, and Christina Hall as administrative assistant, who will be handling the front desk as well as convention and tourism assistance.

CenterState Bank and South State Bank, headquartered in Columbia, S.C., have agreed to an all-stock merger that, if approved by regulators and shareholders, will create the eighth-largest bank headquartered in the Southeast and will be based in Winter Haven.

The Winter Haven City Commission approved a $1.1 million contract to build a new general aviation hangar at the Winter Haven Regional Airport.

Hans Lehman was named a Lakeland Police Department assistant chief, filling the vacancy left by retiring Assistant Chief Mike Link.

►Redstone Investments started construction on a new Publix Shopping Center at the Northwest corner of Kathleen Road and Duff Road in Lakeland.
