Tampa-based Charles Perry Partners, in association with Willis Smith Construction, broke ground on the new Sarasota Memorial Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. The center will be built on the health system’s University Parkway/Honore Avenue campus in Sarasota.
The single story, 17,687-square-foot radiation oncology center will house two modern linear accelerators for radiation therapy, a CT simulator, radiation oncology physician offices and integrative and supportive care services.
Radiation oncology is one of priority areas for the evolving Sarasota Memorial Cancer Institute. The comprehensive cancer program is expanding this year with facilities to house services across the entire continuum of cancer care—including prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials, followup, survivorship care and support.
The center is slated to open in summer 2020.
