USF plans to make special announcement in honor of former lawmaker Sam Bell

The University of South Florida will recognize Sam Bell during a special event, at 10 a.m., on October 10.

Bell, a former state lawmaker who passed away in March, was a longtime champion of USF and is considered the “father” of USF’s College of Public Health.

USF President Rhea Law along with Michael Griffin, vice chair of the USF Board of Trustees, USF College of Public Health Dean Donna Petersen and Jay Stroman, chief executive officer of the USF Foundation, will make the announcement in a ceremony on the Tampa campus at the College of Public Health building, located at 13201 Bruce B. Downs Blvd.
