Mike Alstott Family Foundation donates Thanksgiving dinners to Hillsborough firefighters

The Mike Alstott Family Foundation provided Thanksgiving dinners to all 46 Hillsborough County Fire Rescue stations for the sixth consecutive year.

Firefighters received groceries for a traditional holiday dinner, including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy and pie. The meals were distributed on Friday, at HCFR Headquarters at 9450 E. Columbus Dr., Tampa.

Mike Alstott, a former Tampa Bay Buccaneer, leads the effort as a tribute to the dedication and sacrifice of first responders, according to a statement.

Over the past six years, the Foundation has donated more than 400 turkeys and 67 full Thanksgiving meals annually, with some larger fire stations receiving multiple sets of groceries.

“The firehouse becomes a second home during the holidays,” Alstott said. “This is our way of giving back to those who keep our community safe every day of the year.”
