Tampa Bay veteran-owned business donates more than $100,000 in medical bags to local organizations (PHOTOS)

Luminary Global, a St. Petersburg-based, veteran-owned company has donated more than $100,000 in StatPacks medical bags, since the start of 2023.

Since the beginning of the year, Luminary has donated 246 medical bags, which are designed to be stocked with life-saving items for advanced life support or basic life support situations. The bag is also created with advanced pathogen-resistant infection control materials. The bags retail for about $400 each, according to a statement.

Organizations that received bags included Hillsborough County Public Schools, the Tampa Police Benevolent Association, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsborough County Firefighters, Manatee County Search and Rescue, Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, St. Petersburg College and more.

Organizations are working directly with their supplier contacts to collect items that they need to go inside the bags, says Jeremy Lavin, chief operating officer of Luminary.

“These organizations will be able to deploy these donations throughout the community in a variety of ways that could be potentially lifesaving,” Lavin says. “These bags, once stocked, will not only increase their preparedness in the event of a life-threatening situation but can also be used for training and teaching awareness and safety.”

Luminary was founded in 2016 by Valerie Ellis Lavin, a retired Army First Sergeant.

“At Luminary we serve those who serve by ensuring they have the equipment needed to save lives in our community,” says Valerie. “The intention of our company is to make sure that whether you are a paid professional or an everyday hero, you’re prepared to save someone’s life.”[image_slider_no_space on_click=”prettyphoto” height=”300″ images=”23973,23972,23971,23970,23969,23968″]
