Celebrating music and stories across the globe: Symphonic Distribution’s ‘Your Story Starts Here’ campaign

Jo-Lynn Brown January 7, 2025

In a world increasingly connected by technology, yet diverse in culture, music serves as a universal language that transcends boundaries. Symphonic Distribution, a Tampa-based music distribution and marketing company, is harnessing this power with its “Your Story Starts Here” campaign—a celebration of independent artists and their unique stories.

The campaign brings to life performances, and interviews, set against stunning backdrops in cities like Los Angeles, New York, Bogotá, Mexico City, São Paulo and Puerto Rico. Each city offers a visual work of art and a sonic exploration of the music emerging from its heart. According to Janette Berrios, Symphonics’ vice president of corporate marketing, the inspiration for the campaign lies in highlighting the intersection of music, culture and history.

“Music is deeply tied to a city’s history—whether shaped by immigration patterns, political climates or even the natural landscape,” Berrios shared. “This campaign is about highlighting the voices, passion and creativity of artists from around the world.”

The idea for the project emerged during Symphonics’ global expansion, reflecting their increasing presence in Latin America, and beyond. A chance remark at a Bogotá conference solidified the concept: “Musicians tell the story of their country through their music.” These words resonated deeply, aligning perfectly with the company’s tagline, “Your Story Starts Here.”

The campaign features up-and-coming DJs and producers whose music reflects not just their creativity but also the energy and identity of their cities. Drone footage from iconic locations adds another layer of authenticity, connecting the sounds to the landscapes they originate from.

“Music often acts as a timestamp, capturing the priorities, emotions and stories of a generation,” Berrios explained. “This campaign celebrates both the diversity and the shared humanity of our global music community.”

While the initiative offers a platform for independent artists to reach new audiences, it also reflects Symphonics’ creative vision, and commitment, to connecting people through music. With the majority of the project executed in-house, Symphonic leveraged local talent and innovative resources to bring their vision to life.

“This isn’t just about branding for us—it’s about celebrating diversity and showing that, despite our differences, there’s a common thread of humanity in every story,” Berrios added.

In addition to highlighting global talent, Symphonic maintains a strong connection to its Tampa roots. Their annual Vibes of the Bay music festival, now in its eighth year, showcases local and global independent artists across genres, from rock to electronic dance music. Furthermore, their women’s empowerment mentorship program has impacted 700 women worldwide, fostering connections and career growth.

Symphonics’ “Your Story Starts Here” campaign offers more than music—it provides a window into the lives, landscapes and cultures shaping today’s most exciting independent artists. As Berrios aptly put it, “The world might be big, but music makes it feel a little smaller.”
