First American Bank appoints former BBVA top executive to lead West Florida Market

Kevin Shukur has been named West Florida Market president for First American Bank.

Effective immediately, Shukur will lead the West Florida corporate banking team and provide full-service banking from the bank’s Tampa headquarters.

Most recently, Shukur headed up BBVA USA’s West Florida Market, having founded it in 2013. BBVA was recently acquired by PNC.

“I look forward to growing this franchise. The fun part of banking is building something from scratch. I’ve done it before and I look forward to doing it again,” says Shukur. “One of the things I want to do is introduce First American bank to the central and west Florida markets.”

Shukur has already added a lender and has offers out to more, he says.

First American Bank is a privately held, full-service bank with more than $5.5 billion in assets serving Chicago, Milwaukee, Miami and Tampa markets.
