Former NFL player Michael Lehan has opened the Peach Cobbler Factory in Bradenton, bringing a personal touch to the dessert scene.
Located at 629 Cortez Road W, the shop will host a grand opening on Saturday, January 11, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., featuring raffle prizes and a menu of sweet treats.
The shop offers cobblers, cookies, banana puddings, cinnamon rolls, churro sticks, Belgian waffles and more. Lehan’s inspiration comes from memories of his biological father, Melvin, who always welcomed him with a freshly baked peach cobbler.
“The smell meant I was home,” Lehan said. “As we open our doors, we offer love in the form of service, hoping to bring a little sweetness and peace.”
Lehan, a former defensive back for the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints, transitioned to education after his football career. He now serves as district vice president for Fusion Education Group and supports local nonprofits.
