The Spiral Staircase Steps Up After Hurricanes Helene and Milton

In the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, one local business is determined to provide more than just a place to work—it aims to offer a sanctuary.

The Spiral Staircase, located in downtown Tampa and founded by Christina McCue Hoek, is a community-focused space designed to empower women at all stages of life.

After the storms, McCue Hoek fast-tracked the launch of the co-working membership program to help those in need of a safe and serene space. One particularly touching moment came when a new mother arrived, with her two-week-old baby, seeking nothing more than internet access and power, to keep her business afloat after her home was destroyed. “It was a reminder of why we exist—to provide a refuge in times of crisis,” says McCue Hoek.

Now, The Spiral Staircase is calling on the community for support. The organization is working to raise $100,000 to keep its doors open to women who need a place to rebuild, both in life and business.

Sponsors who contribute to the hurricane relief efforts will receive promotional opportunities within the community. The Spiral Staircase offers its sponsors access to its space for networking, events, and collaborations.
